オバマ大統領就任演説を原文で読んでみた

At first, excuse me for my private matter, it's the 4th anniversary of my mother's death today. She was an English teacher, so, today I'll make a brief diary in English. She and you may laugh and kick at my poor Einglish, here I'll apologize in this first paragraph.
初めに私事で恐縮だが、今日は母の４回忌にあたる。母親は英語の教師だった、ということで、今日はちょいと雑記を英語で書いてみる。僕のつたない英語で母親とこれを読む皆さんが笑い飛ばすかもしれないんで、とりあえずこの場で最初に謝っとく。

Well, today I went to take lunch in a city area. After lunch, I went to a extremely huge book store. Probably, it is one of the largest book store in my prefecture. Then I find an interesting book for my English study. It names "The Inagural Address of Barack Obama."
さて、今日、昼ご飯を食べに街に出た。食後、馬鹿でかい本屋に寄った。たぶん県内屈指の規模を誇る本屋だ。そこで、英語習得のためにも面白そうな本を見つけた。その名も「オバマ大統領就任演説」だ。

In addition, this book has more 2 presidents' address; Abraham Lincoln's "The Gettysburg Address" and John F. Kennedy's "Inargural Address." Especially, Gettysburg Address is famous at the wise remark, " Government of the people, by the people, for the people." And there is a supplement CD recorded of the 3 address' voice. Lincorn's is a narrator's voice, but the others are the original speach. It is just 1050 yen, in task. Why don't you buy now?
加えて、この本には他にも２人の大統領の演説が入っている。アブラハム・リンカーン大統領のゲティスバーグ演説とジョン・F・ケネディ大統領だ。特にゲティスバーグ演説といえば、あの「人民の人民による人民のための政治」という名言が有名。そして３演説ともに音声が付録CDに収録されている。リンカーンはナレーターの音声だが、他は肉声を収録。これでたったの税込1050円である。お得！

Just right time! I often heard the President Obama's speach is persuasiveness. Strike while iron's hot, thanks for this happning, I made up my mind to read the original text and listen his own address. Now the book is in right front of me.
なんとタイムリーな！ オバマ大統領のスピーチは説得力があるとあちこちで聞いたことがある。思い立ったら吉日、せっかくだから原文を読み、肉声を聞いてみようかと思い立った。いま、手元にその本がある。

In the very beginning of title, I didn't know "address" means not only "somewhere a person lives" but "a formal speach." It's a big step for my success.(lol)
まずタイトルからして、「address」の持つ意味が住所だけでなく、「演説」という意味があることを知った。それだけでも大した進歩だ（爆）

Incidentally, I have the TOEIC Test next week. I don't think this book is preparedness of it, but I never study only for a test. It's not bad to write an entry with FULL of mistakes once in a while.
ついでに言うと、来週にTOEICを受ける。これが試験対策になるとは思わないが、試験のために英語を勉強しているのではないのだ。たまにはこうして、間違いだらけの英語で雑記を書くのも悪くないな。
